Marrying in a hurry

The Marriage Act requires that couples wishing to marry in Australia must give a full month's notice. This means that you have to lodge a duly completed, signed and witnessed Notice of Intended Marriage with your celebrant. I can witness your signatures, but if distance or other factors makes that impossible, I will explain what you will need to do.

However, the Act also recognises that circumstances may arise that make it necessary to seek permission to marry in less than a month.

There are specific grounds on which Shortening of Time may be granted. I will be happy to assist you with your application for shortening of time should you meet the criteria.

Please note that pregnancy and rapidly approaching visa expiry are not acceptable reasons.

It was amazing. We loved how you made it fun and humourous. We also liked how you involved our family. All in all it was such a warm ceremony. You were great!!!.

Testimonial: From the get go Jenny made us feel comfortable. She explained all the in's and out's. Jenny is so easy to talk to and very quick to respond to any question or concern you have. Her prices are very reasonable for the service and attention to detail she provides. Our ceremony was small with only 10 guests in total but Jenny made everyone laugh and feel welcome. We would highly recommend Jenny any day, she made our day truly magical. - Gabby and Robert who married in a Warm and Wonderful Weekday Wedding ceremony at Scotts Point

Hi Jenny, Just to say thank you so much for everything and your relentless efforts. You came at a time we needed you most, God bless you - Beverley and Nonsi who married with a shortening of time.

Our favourite part of the ceremony was how you made us and our families relaxed and comfortable. We were very impressed with the personal touches you added. The way you performed the ceremony was memorable and the assistance you gave us with the legal paperwork was outstanding. - Pru and Simon who married in their lovely garden with a shortening of time.
